SEO – Without It, Your Website Is Invisible

SEO, stands for Search Engine Optimization. Basically what this means is that there are some websites that are designed in such a way that it’s easier for search engines like Google and Yahoo to read all the material on the site. The easier it is for Google and Yahoo to index your content, the more likely they are to include your website in someone’s search.
Is your website optimized for search engines? If you don’t know you better ask somebody!!! Talk to your website provider and ask them what is being done to optimize the site. Have you thought through all the search words someone would use to find your website? Have you added those key terms to your site map? Have you entered a description of your website and church? There are a ton of things you can do to get noticed on the web.

Churches could be much farther ahead if they simply did one thing. Make your title tag (those words that appears in the browser tag) include the following: Church name (+ plus the word “church” somewhere if your church name doesn’t include the word), City name, and one extra keyword that matches your church need such as contemporary, traditional, rock music, denomination, (or evenKJVOnly for some churches!) That would help their SEO tremendously. grovechurch.com is a good example of using the title tag in this way.
