Whiteboard Sessions – Perry Noble
Posted on 01. Jun, 2010 by Steve Swisher in Conferences
Perry’s been one of my favorite pastors for a while now. I almost went to a church in Anderson, SC before I knew anything about him or New Spring Church. He speaks with a mixture of humor and authority. Here’s
- God needs to know he can trust you with pain. Before they (Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego) could see Jesus, the furnace is turned up 7 times hotter. Is this God punishing me or God preparing me in a unique way.
- Pain is the process God uses to prepare us.
- Criticism: Rick Warren says the average pastor will leave a church for 7 critics. After the service, the normal people go home. One of the worst things you can do is read the critical things people say about you. It’s verbal pornography. You know you shouldn’t look at it, it’s killing you, so knock it off.
- Surround yourself with people who love Jesus, and love you. But they must love Jesus more than they love you.
- Look at the story of Esther from the perspective of Haman. He was obsessed with the one guy who didn’t like him and it cost him everything.
- Depression: Lazy people don’t work, disobedient people don’t rest. God commanded you to rest one day a week.
- When was the last time you went on a date? (without another couple in the church, without your cellphone)
- Those that deify, will crucify.
- Be still and know that I am God (it’s often quoted, seldom done)
If you missed the conference and want the experience, you can order the DVD of it here.
