Why Blog?

It’s clear that more and more people enjoy spending time on the internet. A whole new computer market has been created called netbooks for those just wanting to surf the internet. Mobile phones like the iPhone and others allow people to spend time on the internet while standing in line at the Post Office.

All of these people are looking for something on the internet that is relevant to their lives. They want to connect with people and learn new things. Because of this Facebook continues to grow bigger and bigger every day. The question for you as a church planter/pastor is do you want to be a part of their internet experience? If so, then a stale and static website isn’t going to be something your church community checks on a daily basis.

Certainly you need to have some static content on there, but if you want to exent the opportunity that you have to connect and minister to your community beyond the one hour a week you have on Sunday, then blogging might be your best bet.  It takes a little while to build up a content base for the blog, but once you get it going you will find that people in your church check it every week.

Tomorrow I’ll give you some ideas for what to put in your blog.
